NEW DELHI: Mobile operators in the country have added 83.20 lakh new subscribers in November, as compared to 80.05 lakh in the previous month.
“The total wireless subscribers including GSM, CDMA and WLL(F) base stood at 22.55 crore at the end of November 2007. However, in the wireline segment, subscriber base has declined to 3.93 crore in November as against 3.94 crore in the previous month,” said a statement issued by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) today.
The total number of telephone connections stood at 26.48 crore at the end of November as against 25.66 crore in he previous month. Tele-density rose to 23.21 per cent in November from 22.52 per cent a month ago.
With an addition of 20.53 lakh new connections in a month, Bharti Airtel consolidated its position. Its subscriber base stood at 5.29 crore.
Reliance added 15.60 lakh connections and its base reached 3.94 crore, while Vodafone added 13.76 lakh new customers to reach a customer base of 3.86 crore.
Meanwhile, state-owned BSNL added 9.97 lakh new customers and its mobile client based stood at 3.60 crore at the end of November.
Tata Teleservices added 8.27 lakh customers and its client base stood at 2.10 crore at the end of November, said the TRAI statement.
Meanwhile, total broadband subscribers base reached 28.70 lakh by the end of November as compared to 26.90 lakh in the previous month, it added.
